Trulli content despite Q1 traffic

10 September 2011
2011 Italian Formula 1 Grand Prix: Saturday

Jarno Trulli’s Monza grid position of 18th means the Italian has out-qualified Lotus team-mate Heikki Kovalainen for the second time this season. Despite being hampered by traffic, with one case having been Sergio Pérez overtaking on his first flying lap, the Pescara driver remains pleased.

“The last lap also would have been even better, I got some traffic, but I don’t mind,” Trulli, whose best Monza finishing position is fourth for Renault in 2002, explained to BBC Sport. “We made some changes after yesterday, which is a good improvement. I’m feeling happy now; I’ve had a big improvement with this new power steering.”

Along with HRT's Vitantonio Liuzzi, Trulli is one of the two Italians contesting his home event this weekend.
