2011 Singapore Formula 1 Grand Prix: Friday second free practice results

Neither Sergio Pérez nor Kamui Kobayashi had any complaints following the first two practice sessions for the Singapore Grand Prix, with the Mexican and Japanese ending a shortened two and a half hours of running time in eighth and ninth places.

“Today we had very nice conditions for driving,” said the Ferrari Academy driver. “The circuit is very demanding for the drivers and also for the tyres - you have to be focused all the time. I hope we manage to find a good balance for the car for the race. I think we have some good opportunities here to score points.”

The memorable moment of Kobayashi’s second session came at the Singapore Sling Chicane (Turn 10), as he took too much kerb and became airborne.

“My car is quite okay,” said Kobayashi. “Generally it is better on circuits which require more downforce which, unlike at the recent circuits we have raced on, is the case here. It is a different and a better feeling. Also for me, both tyre compounds the Soft and Super Soft, seem okay.”
