Timo Glock has blamed Daniel Ricciardo for his early demise from the Singapore Grand Prix. The Virgin Racing driver retired on Lap 11, having spun at Turn 18 and hit the barriers with his right-rear wheel. On the opening lap, the HRT of Ricciardo had pitted with a broken front wing.
“It’s a disappointing end to the weekend for the team and for me,” said German Glock, who finished second in Singapore for Toyota in 2009. “I had quite a good start but I lost my positioning with Jérôme (d’Ambrosio) because I was on the outside.
“Then, unfortunately, in the second sector Ricciardo drove into the rear-right of the car and from that moment my steering wheel was not straight, it was quite a lot to the right, and in all the left-hand corners the car was really difficult to drive.”
D’Ambrosio, in the sole finishing Virgin car, was 18th ahead of HRT pairing Ricciardo and Vitantonio Liuzzi.
