Karthikeyan to drive on Friday in Japan

30 September 2011

HRT has confirmed that Narain Karthikeyan will again drive in Friday’s first practice session as Formula 1 heads to Suzuka for next weekend’s Japanese Grand Prix.

Last time out in Singapore, the Indian – who was replaced at the team by Daniel Ricciardo – drove alongside the Australian rookie, taking the wheel of Vitantonio Liuzzi’s car for one session.

His Suzuka outing will serve as another warm-up prior to a race return for the inaugural Indian Grand Prix on 30 October.

The Colin Kolles-run team has also verified that, once again, Liuzzi will stand aside to enable 34-year-old Karthikeyan’s 90 minutes in the cockpit.
