Nico Rosberg is hoping Formula 1’s new-for-2011 overtaking aid, DRS, can continue to facilitate passing at Suzuka this weekend. Traditionally, due to its narrow nature, the Japanese track has proven highly complicated for overtaking.
“I always enjoy visiting Japan for the Japanese Grand Prix and Suzuka is truly a great race track,” says Rosberg, who last year retired when his Mercedes lost its left-rear wheel at the quick Dunlop curve. “Personally I think it's one of the best circuits on the Formula 1 calendar, along with Spa.
“In the past, overtaking has been really difficult here, so it will be interesting to see how the new rules affect the racing.”
The German’s best Suzuka result to date is fifth for Williams in 2009.
