Nico Rosberg’s Mercedes will start the Japanese Grand Prix from 23rd on the grid, having been stuck in his garage in Q1 due to hydraulics problems. Despite this, the German is still fully confident that a top ten finish will be possible in Sunday’s race.
“We got a hydraulic problem, apparently,” Rosberg explained to reporters in the Suzuka paddock. “The team just said come straight back in and don’t shift anymore. They couldn’t repair it, but it’s always quite complicated with hydraulics.
“It will definitely be a long race tomorrow but I definitely haven’t given up and it’s definitely possible to score from back there. It won’t be easy, but let’s see.”
