Sutil pushing Mallya to know 2012 plans

Sutil pushing Mallya to know 2012 plans

25 October 2011

Adrian Sutil has insisted that, as his F1 career hangs in the balance, he cannot wait until December for Force India boss Vijay Mallya to reveal his 2012 plans. This comes as rumours continue to circulate that the German may be left on the sidelines as compatriot Nico Hülkenberg joins the race team alongside Scotland’s Paul di Resta.

Sutil has raced with Force India since the team ran under its Spyker guise for the 2007 season, although Team Principal and CEO Mallya has continued to state that he will not be announcing his 2012 driver line-up until December.

“I can't wait till December,” Sutil explained to reporters. “I will speak to him very soon and see what his ideas are. I don't need to wait so long for a seat but I think I know what I can do, so I don't feel insecure.”

In the event of Force India promoting Hülkenberg and retaining di Resta, Sutil is expected to make the switch to Williams; although 2007 World Champion Kimi Räikkönen has been linked to the Grove outfit, manager Steve Robertson denied a Formula 1 return for the Finn when questioned by GPUpdate.net in September.
