Estonia’s Kevin Korjus will drive for Renault at the upcoming Young Driver test in Abu Dhabi, GPUpdate.net can confirm. The 18-year-old has spent the 2011 season in the World Series by Renault, picking up three race wins and finishing sixth overall.
“It’s really good news,” the 2010 Formula Renault 2.0 Eurocup Champion told GPUpdate.net. “It will be a great experience for me. I’m just waiting for it now.”
Renault is yet to confirm its full line-up for the test, which will run for three days from Tuesday 15 November - the week which follows the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix.
Korjus will be on-track on Thursday, as the first Estonian to drive a Formula 1 car since former BMW test driver Marko Asmer in 2008.
