Monaco’s Stefano Coletti will join Toro Rosso for the upcoming Young Driver test session in Abu Dhabi. The 22-year-old will also be racing in the GP2 finale event, although he is yet to confirm with which team.
“I’m happy,” Coletti told GPUpdate.net. “It’s nice to be able to do it - so at least I’ll be in an F1 car for one day. Obviously it is a Red Bull team, so they have their own drivers, but it’s good to be able to test a Formula 1 car and gain some experience.
“Maybe I’ll then do some other tests with other teams next year, or even this year, but we don’t know yet. At the moment I am just confirmed to do one day, but I’ll be around with my helmet so you never know!”
The Yas Marina test will take place during the week which follows the Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, running for three days from Tuesday 15 November.
