Coughlan becomes Williams Technical Director

29 October 2011

Williams has announced that Mike Coughlan is its new Technical Director for the 2012 season, taking the role previously held by McLaren-bound Sam Michael. Coughlan, who himself worked for McLaren until 2007’s ‘Spygate’ espionage scandal, joined the Grove-based outfit earlier this season.

“Our technical team consists of Mike Coughlan, who we have just confirmed as the new Technical Director,” Williams Chairman Adam Parr said in India, although the team’s press department is yet to release an official statement regarding the change.

Coughlan currently holds the Williams position of Chief Engineer following a technical reshuffle for the former World Champion team earlier this season.
