McLaren's Martin Whitmarsh has accidentally revealed the length of Jenson Button's new contract with the Woking-based team. Earlier this year the team announced it had extended Button's contract, but did not want to reveal its exact length.
After Sunday's Indian Grand Prix had ended, BBC Sport's Eddie Jordan asked Team Principal Whitmarsh whether or not Button's performances had improved at McLaren following his new contract confirmation.
Whitmarsh replied by saying the 2009 Champion has slotted into the team well and that he hopes to see three great years of Jenson Button at McLaren. It would mean Button will remain with McLaren at least until the end of 2014.
