Italy’s Kevin Ceccon, 2011 Auto GP Champion, will test the Toro Rosso Formula 1 car at the upcoming Young Driver session in Abu Dhabi, it has been confirmed by the Faenza-based team. The 18-year-old will run alongside Stefano Coletti, whose own drive was reported by GPUpdate.net last week.
“Scuderia Toro Rosso is well used to training young drivers and we are pleased to add Coletti and Ceccon to the list of students who have been through the Toro Rosso school,” says Team Principal Franz Tost. “Neither of them is part of the Red Bull Young Driver Programme, which is down to the fact that those drivers currently on the programme are still too young and inexperienced to deal with a Formula 1 car.”
Abu Dhabi’s test, in which taking part is permitted only for those drivers who have competed in two or less Grands Prix, will be staged between Tuesday 15 and Thursday 17 November.
