Force India driver decision still not made

Force India driver decision still not made

7 November 2011

Force India’s trio of drivers will continue to await their fate as Vijay Mallya finalises plans for the 2012 Formula 1 season. Most inside the paddock believe that Paul di Resta will be joined by Nico Hülkenberg, although Adrian Sutil is the team’s highest-placed driver in the current championship.

The Force India decision was set to come in December, although an initial request by Sutil has brought the announcement forward; although Mallya has already said that a statement would arrive before this weekend’s Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, the Indian is seemingly yet to make up his mind.

“All the drivers have asked me to make an early decision and I respect that,” the Team Principal and Managing Director said on Monday. “I have a big decision to make! But it’s not made yet – I’m not the type of guy who’s going to make a decision and string people along. When I decide I will just tell them the way it is and that’s it.”

2012 will mark Force India’s fifth campaign in F1 since buying out Spyker.
