Webber: Next year will be different

5 December 2011

Mark Webber is confident that he will enjoy a much more successful Formula 1 campaign in 2012, the Australian struggling to match Red Bull team-mate Sebastian Vettel this year. With the winter break in full swing, he says the 'finer details' will now be worked on to give himself the best possible chance of title glory.

"The next most important race is Melbourne and next year will be different to this year, because that's just the way I'm sure things will go," Webber, who won the Brazilian GP finale, explained to Reuters.

"I'm very, very optimistic and positive that I'll have a very, very strong season and that's what I'm going to look forward to. I'm still driving very, very well.

"It's an extremely fine line before you start to unlock a few other things that can make your season go from good, which was this year, to great, and that's what I need to be able to try and do."

Webber ultimately took third place in the overall championship standings, exactly 122 points (more than four race victories worth of points) behind team-mate Vettel.
