Schumacher becomes candidate for football Chairman
14 December 2011 – Michael Schumacher is an improbable contender for becoming Chairman of German football club 1. FC Köln, it has been revealed in the German media. A great lover of the sport, the Mercedes driver is one of several names who could take on the role for the club which is currently tenth in Bundesliga, his country’s premier league.
“He is on the list,” confirms Werner Wolf on behalf of the club’s Board of Directors, “although it is unlikely that he will become Chairman.”
A new Chairman for the club is set to be confirmed following a meeting next Tuesday.
