Mallya sends regards to ousted Sutil

16 December 2011

Vijay Mallya has wished Adrian Sutil the best as his future in Formula 1 rests with a team other than Force India for the first time. The German entered F1 with the Silverstone-based squad in 2007, although it then ran under Spyker ownership.

“Our new line-up means we say ‘goodbye’ to Adrian Sutil, who has been with the team since we entered the sport,” Team Principal and Managing Director said on Friday. “He has been an integral part of our success over the past four seasons and we wish him well for the future.”

As Force India - which entered F1 as Jordan Grand Prix in 1991 - promotes Nico Hülkenberg to a 2012 race seat alongside Paul di Resta, Sutil continues in a frantic battle for the one remaining Williams place alongside Pastor Maldonado.
