McLaren will unveil its 2012 car, the MP4-27, on Tuesday 1 February. With British World Champions Jenson Button and Lewis Hamilton remaining as team-mates, a location for the launch ceremony is yet to be revealed.
As well as revealing the date of its 2012 launch, McLaren has also announced on Monday that its latest contender will be present at the opening pre-season test in Jerez. This follows the strategy of rivals Ferrari, which McLaren has beaten in the Constructors’ Championship for the past three seasons.
The Woking team has claimed the overall runner-up spot to Red Bull in both 2010 and 2011, although a teams’ title has eluded it since 1998.
