Sutil manager calm despite search for seat

20 December 2011

Adrian Sutil’s manager is not worried by the lack of a Formula 1 race seat as 2012 approaches, with the German having been dropped by Force India in favour of Nico Hülkenberg. Two places currently remain on next season’s grid, with the 28-year-old now chasing a Williams position.

With only Williams and HRT still offering vacancies alongside Pastor Maldonado and Pedro de la Rosa, respectively, Sutil finds himself in a multiple-driver scrap for the Williams seat which is also contested by the likes of Rubens Barrichello.

“We're not really worried,” Manfred Zimmermann, manager to Sutil, explained to German website Sport1. “We have until 7 February, which is when pre-season testing starts. It is still too early to talk about an uncertain future. I cannot say who we are talking to but there are still several options. We are calm and will make a decision in due course.”

Furthermore, the German media now suggests Sutil could be talking to Ferrari as a possible replacement for Felipe Massa from 2013 onwards.
