Kubica splits with rehabilitation doctor

29 December 2011

Robert Kubica has parted ways with Dr. Riccardo Ceccarelli, the man who led his extensive recovery programme directly after he endured a life-threatening crash during the Rally di Andora in February. The Pole’s recuperation will now be spearheaded by another team, as he attempts to step foot inside F1 machinery once again.

"We have different views on how to continue the recovery, it will be controlled by another person," Dr. Ceccarelli is quoted as saying by Italian newspaper Gazzetta dello Sport.

Dr. Ceccarelli went on to explain that he is certain of Kubica’s ability to make a return to the sport in the near future, expecting the 27-year-old race-winner to get back behind the wheel of an F1 car next season.

"I have no doubt that Kubica will again be a pilot in 2012, but it takes its time. Nature must take its course, but his time will come."
