Tom Cotter named President of New Jersey GP

18 January 2012

Tom Cotter, head of the Cotter Group which is regarded as one of the world’s largest motorsports marketing and communications agencies, has been named President for the upcoming New Jersey Grand Prix. Officially named the Grand Prix of America, the race with a New York City skyline backdrop will appear on next year’s F1 calendar.

“The chance to make racing history doesn't come along often,” Cotter said at the site of the race, alongside the iconic Hudson River. “That's Monaco in America. That's one of the most dynamic courses I've ever seen in terms of elevation.”

57-year-old Cotter will spend the next several weeks gathering with new staff and discussing the logistics of the event. He will also meet with government officials. Prior to the New Jersey event, the Unites States Grand Prix is back on the calendar for this year from the brand-new, purpose-built Circuit of the Americas in Austin, Texas.
