Red Bull Racing has officially confirmed that Mark Webber will be the driver to debut this year’s new RB8, as GPUpdate.net reported earlier this month. Testing begins in Jerez, Spain on Tuesday 7 February. Before the Australian Grand Prix, two more four-day test sessions will be staged at Barcelona’s Circuit de Catalunya.
Red Bull's Jerez programme is as follows:
7-8 February: Mark Webber
9-10 February: Sebastian Vettel
Although the Australian will be first to sample the car, the Renault-powered machine should already have had two days of development by the time World Champion Sebastian Vettel steps into the cockpit.
