Lotus F1 unveils E20 at Enstone

5 February 2012
Formula 1 launch Lotus Renault, 5 February 2012

Lotus F1 revealed the car it hopes will propel it to the front of the Formula 1 grid in 2012, with the new E20 breaking cover at the team's Enstone factory on Sunday. Launched by an all-new driver line-up - consisting of former World Champion Kimi Räikkönen and current GP2 title holder Romain Grosjean - the machine again sports the black and gold design that was re-introduced to the sport last year.

The E20 is the fourth car released so far to feature the new 'broken nose'. Like the Caterham F1 design, the Lotus has a more gradual change towards the front of the car, as opposed to Ferrari's attempt which features a very angular step.

This season, the team enters under a new name and has two new drivers on-board. Prior to this, the Oxfordshire-based outfit has taken four Drivers' and three Constructors' World Championships, along with 35 race victories. Both Räikkönen and Grosjean return to F1 after respective two year absences, with the latter having sewn up last years GP2 crown at the penultimate round in Spa-Francorchamps.

The car will have a short demonstration run at Jerez in the near future, prior to testing officially commencing on Tuesday, with Finland's Räikkönen behind the wheel.

Also at Enstone on Sunday:

- Lotus: Fourth place is the target
- We have high expectations, explains Grosjean
- Raikkonen: It will be different for me
