Williams has become the last F1 team to unveil its contender ahead of pre-season testing in Jerez this morning. The Renault-powered car was wheeled into the pit lane, flanked by Pastor Maldonado and Bruno Senna, shortly before running began at 9am.
For 2012, Williams has completely reshuffled its technical department following the departure of Sam Michael. Taking his role is ex McLaren man Mike Coughlan, who has carried over less than five percent of car parts from the 2011 machine.
“One could say that, looking at the Williams F1 Team today, we are off to a truly fresh start,” says Team Principal Frank Williams. “We have a new car, new driver line-up, new engine and new senior personnel.
“We also have a number of new partners who have joined the team in the past few months. I’d like to take this opportunity to welcome them formally and sincerely wish that they have an enjoyable and, most importantly, a valuable experience with us. The team has had a good winter at the factory and we feel ready and strong for the fight.”
Maldonado is first to drive when testing starts shortly.
