Mercedes began its Barcelona programme on Sunday, enjoying the Circuit de Catalunya in a private test. The Brackley team had substituted its final day of Jerez, having been in Andalucía with its 2011 car for only three of the four days.
Following a shakedown run for the new F1 W03 at Silverstone last week, in which Nico Rosberg and Michael Schumacher completed between them the maximum possible 100 kilometres (62.2 miles) for a filming day, the squad headed back to Spain.
In Barcelona on Sunday, Schumacher drove in the morning and Rosberg in the afternoon, racking up a further 200 kilometres (124.3 miles) with the new car.
