"It was a good day today as we completed all of our planned programme with no issues," commented the Venezuelan, who took over testing duties from test-driver Valtteri Bottas.
"We have put more mileage on the car which is great for everyone here and back at the factory as we now have a lot more data to analyse. The car is progressing well and I feel everything is going in the right direction."
Maldonado clocked a 1.22.391 which was just over two tenths of a second quicker than yesterday's best, set by Force India driver Nico Hülkenberg. The 26 year old from Maracay will be back behind the wheel for the final day on Friday.
