Kobayashi: No problems, but room for improvement
24 February 2012 – Kamui Kobayashi took the reigns from team-mate Sergio Pérez on Thursday, driving the C31 for the first time in Barcelona. The Japanese concentrated on set-up and aero work, testing two different rear wings. No problems were experienced throughout the day but the 25 year-old felt there was more work left to do.
“It was my first day of driving the new car here in Barcelona, and it was a good one," he said. "We had no noteworthy problems all day and went through a lot of test items.
"I can feel we have made some progress compared to the test in Jerez. But, of course, we have a lot more work to do and there is room for improvement.”
Kobayashi returns to the fray on Friday for his second and final day of testing.
