Nico Rosberg rounded out the test at Barcelona for Mercedes AMG on Friday, touring the circuit 139 times and completing nearly 650 kilometres. Rosberg feels Mercedes are making good progress with the W03 after a day spent focussed on set up and race simulations.
"After our first full test with the F1 W03, I can see that we are making good steps forward," said the German. "Our test programme went well this week and we have made evident progress each day.
"In terms of reliability, the car is performing pretty much as we expected which is really important as we can concentrate on improving the performance."
The squad from Brackley have now completed over 2420 kilometres since their initial shakedown in Silverstone mid-way through February. Rosberg was unsure where the team sit in terms of the competition.
"Of course it’s difficult at this stage to predict how we will fare in race conditions against our competitors but overall I’m pleased with the start that we have made. I’m looking forward to the final test next week before the season begins, and continuing our learning with our F1 W03."
Mercedes return on the 1st March for the final pre-season test at the Circuit de Catalunya.
