Caterham's Formula 1 test and reserve driver Giedo van der Garde was announced as Caterham's GP2 driver for the upcoming GP2 championship season. The Dutchman, who enjoyed his first day of testing for Caterham F1 in Jerez earlier this month, will join the GP2 team as early as next week for a week of testing at Circuit de Catalunya.
“It is obviously an ideal combination for me to join Caterham F1 and the team's GP2 outfit to continue racing this year,” Van der Garde said. “I hope to score points on a regular basis this year, but first I will focus on the upcoming week of testing in Barcelona.”
