Crash tests passed for HRT

25 February 2012

The HRT F1 team have passed all of their mandatory FIA crash tests after failing  two previously. The team were subsequently unable to take their new car, the F112 to Barcelona for the second pre-season test.

Each team has to pass 17 tests before they can race and the F112 failed on both the roll hoop and the lateral nose tests by a small margin, meaning they had to be re-taken.

Now those are completed, they are able to test the new car, however their participation at the final test is still in question. The team's two drivers, Narain Karthikeyan and veteran Pedro de la Rosa have missed out on four days of testing due to the delay.

The last pre-season test commences in Barcelona on the 1st March over a four day period.
