To commemorate 30 years since Gilles Villeneuve's tragic death at the Zolder circuit in Belgium, son and 1997 Formula 1 World Champion Jacques drove the Ferrari 312 T4 chassis at the Italian marque's Fiorano test track on Tuesday.
Mauro Forghieri's car design guided Gilles to three Grand Prix victories and a further four podium finishes over the course of the 1979 F1 campaign.
The aforementioned year also saw Gilles secure his best ever championship result, when the Canadian finished runner-up to South African team-mate Jody Scheckter in the overall standings.
Gilles is remembered as one of the most talented drivers to ever grace the Formula 1 paddock, winning six races from 67 starts, reaching the rostrum on seven more occasions, securing two pole positions and registering eight fastest laps.
