Thanks to Pastor Maldonado, Venezuela has become the 21st country to celebrate victory in a Formula 1 race. The success in Barcelona on Sunday also marked the first South American win since Rubens Barrichello did the honours at Monza in 2009.
In 62 years of the Formula One World Championship, adding your name to the list of Grand Prix winners is no mean feat – and history proves it. Maldonado has become the 104th F1 winner in what was the series’ 863rd race.
