Adrian Newey, Chief Technical Officer of Red Bull Racing, will be back in a cockpit next month as he contests the Blancpain Super Trofeo event at Silverstone. The 53-year-old will be driving an iconic Lamborghini Gallardo.
Newey has taken part in a number of motorsport events over recent years, not least at Snetterton when he suffered a heavy accident with now BTCC racer Tony Hughes and was injured in 2010.
His 2012 outing will take place between 2-3 June, on the weekend between the upcoming Monaco and Canadian Grands Prix. The Gallardo is powered by a V10 Lamborghini engine which is able to churn out close to 600 brake horsepower.
