Sebastian Vettel is waiting before judging where Red Bull lie in the Monaco pecking order, with an already unpredictable grid having been made even more so by the weather on Thursday. On the timesheets, he ended a rain-interrupted day in tenth position and three places behind team-mate Mark Webber.
“We didn’t learn too much from today due to the conditions,” said the German. “It wasn’t ideal, as this morning we had a red flag and then it rained this afternoon; as a result it’s hard to say where we are.
“We didn’t have a lot of grip due to the rain, it was very slippery on-track and there were a lot of cars out at the same time - but it was the same for everyone. The weather can change quickly here and now you see there is sunshine again already.”
Red Bull has won the past two Monaco Grands Prix, with Weber having converted pole to victory in 2010 before Vettel did the same thing 12 months ago.
