An HRT mechanic has been taken to hospital in Montreal following a pit lane incident in the first Canadian Grand Prix practice session on Friday morning.
The team member in question is Craig Stubley, first mechanic for Pedro de la Rosa. During the session, he was struck by the Spaniard’s car which was pulling back into its pit box following a stint on the track.
"He is still in hospital, so we can't say his exact injuries until they send the report, but it seems it's just bruises and a swollen knee," an HRT spokesperson explained to GPUpdate.net. "How it happened is still not clear."
HRT last suffered a pit lane accident during the 2010 Italian Grand Prix at Monza.
