Echoing the sentiments of Ferrari Driver Academy member Sergio Pérez, Felipe Massa has been quoted as saying ‘very disappointed’ in Montreal on Saturday. This is despite picking up a season-best grid position of sixth ahead of Sunday’s race.
“I’m very disappointed because I had the potential to do better than this sixth place,” says the Brazilian, who starts three places behind team-mate Fernando Alonso but is pleased with his team’s general progress, which includes new exhausts this weekend.
“All things considered, I remain confident because the whole team is moving forward which is very important for the rest of the season. Tomorrow, we will have to pay great attention when it comes to defining our strategy. I think the choice is restricted to just a one or a two-stop, but a lot depends on tyre behaviour.”
Massa adds that he hopes to make up ‘a few places’ in the race.
