Ferrari boss Stefano Domenicali believes Fernando Alonso and Sebastian Vettel would have no trouble in working together, should the World Champion one day join the Spaniard at the Scuderia. The topic has been the source of much speculation in Formula 1 over recent weeks.
Whereas Alonso debuted with Minardi in 2001 before winning his first race with Ferrari nine years later, Vettel drove in a single race with BMW in 2007 prior to his Red Bull signing two years after. Both men are currently double World Champions.
“In life one should never say never!” Team Principal Domenicali said in an interview published jointly by Germany’s Sport Bild and Auto Bild, relayed onto the Ferrari website. “I think they are both intelligent guys and they could easily coexist together.”
Vettel’s team-mate, Mark Webber, is also being associated with a possible switch to Maranello, although the Australian denies any contact whatsoever with the squad.
