Fry gets honorary degree from Cranfield University

26 June 2012

Mercedes CEO Nick Fry was chosen by the Cranford University to receive an honorary degree last week, joining over 2000 students and five other honorary graduates at the Cranfield campus. The University annually selects a small number of distinguished people to receive such a degree, in recognition of their influence in the sectors in which the post-graduate university specalises.

Clive Temple, Programme Director for Cranfield’s MSc in Motorsport Engineering and Management, explained: "Cranfield is proud to work with leading motorsport teams such as Mercedes. Among those graduating this year are Motorsport MSc students now working at both of the team’s factories in Brackley and Brixworth.

"However we don’t just provide talent to Nick’s team, we also support them through research and testing with the team accessing facilities and expertise here at Cranfield. Nick knows how to put all this talent and infrastructure to good effect. He values our greatest asset, our people, and knows how to get the best out of them."

Fry's team currently lies fifth in the Constructors' standings with a total of 92 points, with Nico Rosberg's Chinese Grand Prix victory its stand out result of 2012 so far.
