2012 British Formula 1 Grand Prix: Saturday qualifying results

Qualifying for the British Grand Prix has come to a stand still, after horrendous weather hit Silverstone for the second day in a row. The session was red flagged during Q2 after several cars aquaplaned off the circuit.

Fernando Alonso, Michael Schumacher and Felipe Massa all found themselves making a trip onto the grass before the session was stopped with just over six minutes remaining on the clock.

Alonso and Lewis Hamilton were heard on the team radio complaining of impossible driving conditions, with the McLaren driver narrowly avoiding a collision with the Sauber of Kamui Kobayashi.

Conditions were similar to that of the 2009 Brazilian Grand Prix, when qualifying was again red flagged before continuing after a lengthy two hour delay.
