Daly set for second F1 aero test at Duxford

9 July 2012

Conor Daly will get behind the wheel of Force India's VJM05 at Duxford on Thursday, completing specific data aero mapping work for the Silverstone-based squad. The American, who races in GP3 for Lotus GP, made his F1 testing debut last month.

"Formula 1 cars are very complex, just learning how to operate the steering wheel takes time," Daly explained ahead of his second test. "These tests help me understand what it takes to drive an F1 car and of course the biggest contribution I want to make is to the team's ongoing improvement over the season.

"It's amazing how much work we get through in a day as I spend most of the time in the car."

Daly's outing takes place just over one week after María de Villota sustained serious head and facial injuries at the same venue during a straight-line test for Marussia.
