Warwick to be steward in Germany

19 July 2012
2012 German Formula 1 Grand Prix

Derek Warwick will return to the role of FIA driver steward as Formula 1 continues in Germany this weekend. The former racer will be working alongside of panel of other adjudicators in order to share his opinions over on-track incidents.

Warwick last took on the role for the 2011 Abu Dhabi Grand Prix, which was the fourth time he had overseen an event in such a way. In Hungary a year earlier, Michael Schumacher infamously squeezed Rubens Barrichello towards the pit wall; afterwards, Warwick revealed that he believed Schumacher should have been disqualified.

This season, the German Grand Prix returns to Hockenheim as it continues the alternating pattern with the Nürburgring which effectively started in 2007.
