Ferrari were not able to enjoy a long run in Hungary on Friday because of the rain, despite Fernando Alonso and Felipe Massa racking up over a century of laps between them. However, the championship leader is pleased with the latest car upgrades.
As rain affected a Formula 1 Friday for the third race weekend in a row, Alonso ended the day fifth quickest and one place behind team-mate Massa.
“What’s to say, the usual Friday,” Alonso began. “It’s always difficult to hypothesise on how things will go in qualifying or the race - even more so when it rains, as has happened over the past three race weekends. Because of this afternoon’s rain, we did not manage to try the dry tyres over a long run but, at least in the morning we managed to complete the work relating to the aerodynamic updates which we brought here.”
The Spaniard picked up his maiden F1 victory in Hungary, driving for Renault in 2003.
