Jules Bianchi was pleased with his latest Force India Friday drive in Hungary, but admits that he would like more time to fine-tune his F1 driver skills in 2012. The Frenchman, racing this year in Formula Renault 3.5, is officially a Ferrari development driver but is on loan to Force India for free practice outings.
“Lots of laps for me today, which was useful and I’m getting more used to the car now,” he said after lapping 26 times this morning in Nico Hülkenberg’s car, ahead of his 23rd birthday next Thursday.
“I started off by doing a lot of short runs so the team could evaluate some test items, then I did a couple of longer runs towards the end.
“It was difficult to find the limit and I was not totally comfortable with the car today, so I think there is some more lap time still to come. It’s always valuable to get time in the car on a race weekend and hopefully the team will learn a lot from the data.”
In Formula Renault 3.5, the flagship championship for the World Series by Renault package, Bianchi sits third overall and is 26 points behind Dutch leader Robin Frijns.
