Verstappen returning to court later in August
Former F1 driver Jos Verstappen will appear in court on 28 August for a charge of vandalism. Several months ago the Dutchman was involved in more conflict, for the attempted murder of his girlfriend, and remained in custody for a fortnight.
Earlier this year, Verstappen was reported to have driven a car into his partner and was initially suspected of attempted homicide and aggravated assault, but was released when no evidence was found. The charges of vandalism remained, meaning Verstappen must return to court for a verdict later this month.
Now 40, the Montfort-born driver last raced in Formula 1 for Minardi in 2003.
