Plans revealed for Silverstone UTC buildings

3 August 2012

An artist’s impression has revealed what the surroundings of the National Pit Straight at Silverstone will soon look like, showing how the new UTC educational building will look. This will be the latest development at a much-changed venue, with one of the modifications having been the changes to the circuit layout ahead of 2010.

The project will be led by Interserve, the international support services and construction group which has been selected to manage and construct the new 10 million-pound campus. The facilities will offer a specialist technical curriculum for 14 to 19-year-olds who are studying high performance engineering and technical events management.

Just under 580 students are set to be based at the Silverstone UTC, learning from skilled experts at the venue which hosted the very first Formula 1 race on 13 May 1950.
