Hülkenberg tips Alonso for world title
23 August 2012 – Nico Hülkenberg has joined the list of people backing Fernando Alonso for this year’s world crown. With a maximum of 225 points still up for grabs, the Spaniard leads the Drivers’ Championship by 40 as Formula 1 heads to Belgium next weekend.
“Fernando Alonso, because he’s the most consistent driver so far this year and Ferrari’s car is no longer so much behind Red Bull’s and McLaren’s as it was at the beginning of the year,” Force India driver Hülkenberg told the official F1 website when asked who he believes will pick up the much coveted prize.
After 11 of the 20 Grands Prix in 2012, Alonso is the only man to have won three races, with Mark Webber and Lewis Hamilton the sole double victors to date.
