Belgium will mark the fifth time this season, and fourth consecutive race weekend, that Dani Clos has driven for HRT in the opening practice session. The Barcelona man, who is tipped to be racing alongside Pedro de la Rosa next year, is savouring the moment.

“Once again, I have a chance to step into the car and work for the team - and that fills me with satisfaction,” says the 23-year-old. “Especially after having run in the events leading up to the summer break, for me it is really important to stay active and be able to continue growing alongside my team-mates Pedro and Narain (Karthikeyan).

“I have great memories at Spa. I won my first international single-seater race there - that’s something you never forget and it makes me have special feelings for this circuit. I’ve been able to rest these days, at least by not travelling, but I haven’t stopped training and I’ve stepped up the rhythm since last week.”

HRT sits 12th in the championship, having finished 11th in both 2010 and 2011.
