Pérez optimistic about ‘daunting’ Spa

Pérez optimistic about ‘daunting’ Spa

26 August 2012

Next weekend will bring the second Belgian Formula 1 race for Sergio Pérez, who retired from a strong ninth place grid spot last year. Following the summer break, the Mexican now hopes to keep up Sauber’s strong run of results across the 2012 season.

“Spa is quite a daunting track with a great history,” he says. “It has its own character and circuits like that are difficult to find nowadays. I am very much looking forward to racing there again. I believe it is one of the favourites of any racing driver.

“I believe the fast circuit will suit our car. We should get everything right there and make sure we have a productive second part of the season. I want to at least score points.”

Sauber will be running only minor modifications to its car when in the Ardennes.
