Giedo van der Garde will be back in the Caterham cockpit for Free Practice 1 at the Japanese Grand Prix, GPUpdate.net can report. So far this year, the Dutch reserve driver has taken part in just the single opening 90-minute period of Shanghai.
“When the GP2 season is over, I will have five Friday practices in Formula 1 and two days in the Young Driver test,” the 27-year-old told GPUpdate.net. “The first practice session will be in Japan, then I’m also driving in Korea, India, Abu Dhabi and Brazil.”
In Rotterdam at the weekend, van der Garde announced that he is now engaged.
