Pirro returns as driver steward for Italy
6 September 2012 – Italian Emanuele Pirro will be serving as driver steward for his home Grand Prix at Monza. Now 50 years of age, his motorsport career spans almost four decades.
Pirro started 38 Formula 1 races between 1989 and 1991, finishing inside the top five for Benetton at the Australian Grand Prix in the first of those seasons.
Away from F1, he was a multiple winner. Most notably, he enjoyed five Le Mans 24 Hour victories and success in the famous events of Daytona and Sebring. He was also Champion in both the German and Italian Touring Car Championships.
