Robert Kubica has escaped unscathed after a crash during this week's San Martino di Castrozza Rally in Italy. The Pole was making his second competitive motorsport outing since returning from severe injuries sustained in a rally accident last February.
Having lost control of his Subaru Impreza en route to a premature retirement, Kubica and his co-driver Jakug Gerber were declared uninjured by event officials. The 27-year-old had been running in a strong position before his car slid into trees.
Just seven days ago, former Grand Prix winner Kubica claimed victory on his return to action with a highly impressive performance at the Ronde Gomitolo di Lana Rally.
